Brave Little Things
Bravery isn’t always about facing your fears head-on or accomplishing the impossible. Sometimes, being brave means knowing when to quit, deciding you’re already whole and enough, or choosing not to do the so-called “brave thing” simply because it’s not what you want.
Brave Little Things is about redefining what it means to show up courageously in life and business, taking small, sustainable steps that help us feel more at home in ourselves. Through raw storytelling, diverse insights, practical tools, and real-life practices, we’ll explore all the ways bravery shows up in everyday moments. Most importantly, you’ll feel held as we navigate these conversations together. Because if there’s one thing I know about building a brave, full life, it’s that doing it together makes it so much easier.
What does it mean to choose a brave life—slowly, intentionally, and on your terms? Let’s go there.

When Your Business Wants to Evolve
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
There comes a point in almost every business where you start wondering if the offer you’ve been selling still feels like you.
In this episode, I’m talking about what happens when you begin to outgrow something that once felt completely aligned, why that doesn’t mean you’ve built the wrong business, and how to tell the difference between chasing the next shiny thing and genuinely evolving.
We also talk about building capacity, trusting the timing of your business, why every version of your work prepares you for the next one, and why feeling lit up by what you’re creating matters more than we often give it credit for.
If you’ve been feeling the pull toward something new—or simply questioning where your business is headed—I hope this conversation reminds you that growth doesn’t always mean starting over. Sometimes it just means allowing yourself to become the next version of the entrepreneur you’re meant to be.

Hey, hey, hey! Yo, yo, yo. Welcome back to Brave Little Things. I am your hostess, Tamar Gersh. I love having you guys back here. Hope everyone's doing well and enjoying the summer vibes. We just had a very exciting thing happen, my family. We just celebrated my dad's 80th birthday, which is insane. I really don't even believe it. Now I'm saying it out loud, but I still don't believe it that he's 80. We did some really fun stuff. We did a dog training workshop for him, surprised him with it because forever this guy has wanted a dog, and forever my mother has not let him have a dog. So we're like, you know what? We'll do the best next thing. We'll do a dog training workshop. And then we went to an amazing brunch right on the water in the the Caesaria port, right by the sea, which was beautiful. We made a video collecting videos from people in his life throughout his life, giving messages, sharing memories, people he hasn't seen in forever. His face was amazing when he was watching this. And just all 25 of us were together, which was incredible. But I will tell you something. That, you know, we came together two days after my dad's birthday, because that was the time when everybody can come together. So on his actual birthday, I gave him a call to say happy birthday. And on that call, he shared with me two crazy things. Number one, he told me so casually that he was d he decided that he was going to get trained as a therapist. I'm like, what? You're 80, dude. This guy, let me tell you a little bit about my dad. This guy has come off an unbelievable career, very successful. He has been, he is a headmaster of Jewish Day Schools when he was living in America. And schools would constantly be going after him. We moved a lot. We moved from school to school and state to state and all over the country and everything like that because schools were just after him. They wanted him to be the guy running the school because he would change communities. It was amazing. And then he moved to Israel. I forgot how old he was exactly, but he then restarted his career. He took a tour guiding course, which apparently is insanely challenging and hard, and most people don't pass. I think it's like 40%, 30%, something like that of passing. He did and start his career as a tour guide, taking people all over, like hiking in crazy places, the whole thing. And now he's apparently at eight years old, deciding he is going to be trained as a therapist. He wants to help this country has been through so much in the past three years, and he wants to help the young people through all the trauma they're going through, and he wants the tools to have them and be able to do that. Blown freaking away. I literally ran to my sibling WhatsApp group to tell them. I'm like, guys, you're not gonna believe this, but this is what Abba, which is dad in Hebrew, just told me, and they were like blown away. And the other thing he, by the way, said is that my mom finally let him decide that the yes he can get a dog. So he's getting a dog after seriously, since he's been like a kid wanting a dog. So this is all very exciting. But the whole thing has got me just thinking about this notion of, you know, starting over and evolving, really just mostly evolving, the evolution of the person. Because I think that, you know, our sweet little brains, our little, you know, primitive lizard brain brains want the best for us, quote unquote, but most want us to stay safe, want us to stay in the same place. And most of the time that involves not evolving. And so that's why many of us don't do that. And you know, just like when I was talking to my dad, I was just thinking about all my own personal clients that I have who are like way younger than 80 years old, you know, my people are like 30 years old, 40 years old, sometimes 50, who really feel like this is it, like this is the end of the road. Like how could they really, you know, restart something? How could they could they start a new career? How could they even create a new offer? How could they do all these kinds of things? And here my dad is at 80 and been like, all right, let's go, let's go for another round, you know. So I have to say, I feel like I've been talking to so many folks, so many who are just like really struggling in their business lately, just feeling like, I don't know what happened, but it's just kind of gone downhill. I'm just not getting the clients, I'm not getting the customers in the door the way I used to. And just having this overall also feeling of like not completely aligned with what they've been offering this whole time, that they're just like shifting. And I'm on that boat too, by the way. I want to very much put myself in this because I myself have been feeling these things kind of like, hmm, like this has been great, but what else? Something else is here for me. I gotta figure this out. And people, you know, I think most of the time when this conversation happens, people really judge themselves. They really kind of feel a lot of shame about it. Like, you know, it's kind of and they go into the slump of like, well, now I don't know what I'm gonna do. And it feels like completely, you know, I think this is weird, like I, you know, midlife crisis, identity crisis comes from because you feel like we're screwed. I've been doing this thing this whole time, and now all of a sudden I'm not it it doesn't feel aligned, it doesn't feel right, it's not even working, people aren't coming my way. What is going on here? And so it's like all these conversations with my dad's 80th birthday, it's like, let's podcast this up because this is a good, juicy conversation and something that I think everybody would be would benefit from, like hearing and being a part of. And, you know, again, I want to mention that I myself have been experiencing this as well personally. And, you know, I think that what I've realized here, this is a thought that I kind of came to was that, you know, how much of my struggle is actually the business part, like things maybe not working the way it used to, or how much of it is it that I'm no longer the same woman who created this offer, right? I've been in business for five years, I think almost six, could that be right? I have to check. But that woman who started, who created her business and created her offer, that was me five years ago. That was past tomorrow five years ago. And so she's a different woman. And, you know, we understand that we evolve, right? When all of m for those folks who have children, who those folks have children in their lives, whether it's their biological children, their aunties, their uncles, their best friends, children, whatever it is, we know that children evolve. Like it's something we just are like, of course. Like they're like born where they can't even lift up their head. They eventually, God willing, chur like learn how to flip over, you know, crawl, walk, the whole thing. It's like we just know this is just the path and the journey of a child. And somewhere we kind of kind of forget that like that's also that we still are very much evolving human beings. It's part of like our DNA. But we gotta shame ourselves for wanting it, desiring it when it comes up, and also mostly get really scared about it. So, I mean, like for me, for example, I have been coaching. My offer has been forever coaching one-on-one clients. I do a six-month package, I coach clients, you know, one-on-one. We go through an entire journey, we get them to where they want to be, you know, their confidence is at a at a place where they feel really great, that they can create offers that they want to, they create customers that they want to, they feel like they can show up online and offline their business, feeling like very clear about what they're going after, all this stuff. And I will tell you, I love the one-on-one offer. I, in fact, suggest it to most of my clients, especially in the beginning, because I think it's a beautiful place to really get to know your people. You get to be have this intimate relationship with them, you get to know their struggles, you get to know like really like what their day-to-day life looks like, what's really hard for them and challenging, what keeps them up at night, what you know, thoughts and questions and concerns are happening for them, what have they tried before in the past that haven't worked? Like you really get to know them. And so I'm like super down. And by the way, I am not getting rid of my one-on-one. I want to be clear about that. I am very much still coaching one-on-one and loving it, but I will say that I am feeling this evolution happen inside of me. I'm understanding that I'm having these new desires of something, I wouldn't say bigger and more, but different, where it's like really stepping into this leadership place that I'm w wanting to be in, where I'm like wanting to be connecting to like more communities and bigger rooms and, you know, spaces with more folks. I kind of want to get my hands on more people at once. That's kind of what's going on here. And so I will say I'm I'm very much in tandem with this, going to be coaching one-on-one clients, but it's gonna be a lot fewer. So that's by the way, and PSA, if you are wanting to do one-on-one coaching with me and be in my container for that, which is a really, I mean, you can speak to any of my clients and they will tell you themselves, but it is a very unique special journey that really just opens you up in so many different kinds of ways. So, anyways, they're gonna be fewer spots there. So that's something to think about. And you can book a one-on-one consult with me. You can just go to Tamar Gers Gersh, what is it? Tamarcoaching.com slash consult. But anyway, that is besides the point. My point is that I am stepping into something bigger, and that's why many of my offers have evolved already. You know, many of you have heard, like I, you know, ran this national networking dance party of over 55 women, which was amazing. I'm now gonna right now, actually in time for recording, it hasn't started yet, but the time you're hearing it, we're gonna be, I think, in the first week of Unmute, which is my 28-day visibility challenge, also more women in the room. And so I'm seeing like how my like I'm being called to do different and to do more. And, you know, it's not like my one-on-one offer is wrong, right? It's not that the woman who created this offer was wrong about that. No, she was so right about that. She has just changed and evolved and like wanting these things. And it's it's kind of funny to me sometimes I think about that. It took me so long to kind of figure this out. Literally, I've been kind of wrestling with this for like maybe six months. And I like this is my work I do with my own clients. And so I imagine that folks who don't do this work, who don't spend their whole time studying the human mind and the, you know, the really strong pushback from our brains to evolve, but even more so when this kind of comes up and when it's time to kind of evolve, change, grow into something different in your business, also obviously very much in your life, that it's even harder to grab onto. Right? Because our little human brains, girl, they they know what they're doing. They know how to like really r like bring us in and really convince us that this is not what we want to be doing. This is not the time to evolve. We want to stay in the game of doing exactly what we're doing, even if it's not exactly aligning with us anymore. It knows how to do those things. So, listen, I think it's really similar to like, you know, again, we humans, we evolve. And in other places in our lives, we kind of are like, yeah, of course, right? Like, so for example, this is one example of many. You know, when I was younger, I love to go out all the time. Like I'm thinking about college, let's say, or whatever. Like, you know, I would be like, Will you be out dancing? Or some we actually used to go to this great um in New York City. I wonder if it still exists. But this all you can drink Chinese restaurant where like I don't even know if the Chinese food was good, it probably wasn't, but it was like they would just bring us cheap wine after cheap wine, and we just had so much fun. And then I would get up early. I mean, quote unquote early was like 10 a.m. But we would go to sleep at like three or four and go, you know, hiking and go just do other kinds of meet people for brunch and things like that. I was out. Then I became a mama. And then it was the last thing I wanted to do. And it was like, I'm not going out. No, like I don't even want people to call me. Like, are you calling me? No, like not gonna mock and pick up the phone, just text me. And I'd say now I'm moving back into an era of really wanting to go out. I'm at like song circles, I'm at like friends' birthday gatherings, I'm on the beach, I'm on so we evolve, we change, and we let ourselves do that. But when it comes to business, we hold back, which is why I want to talk about this. You know, I I'll give you one example, you know, of a client of mine. She came to me as a family photographer. Is that called a family? Yeah, she would like photograph families. That was her thing. And in the session, and in sessions, we you know work together. I think we did work together actually for nine months. She knew from day one that she wanted things to change. She w knew from day one that family photography was not her calling anymore. But it literally took us nine months to get to a place where it evolved into a dating photographer. And then eventually it w moved into a dating coach. So she kind of does a little bit of both of those now. But her brain was fighting her so hard, like so incredibly hard on just becoming that dating coach that she wanted to be. And let me tell you, I'm so freaking proud of this woman. Now she is left and right, like all of our stories, all of her, you know, she is going viral left and right. She her story, she's like just confidently talking about dating coach, you know, uh dating coaching kind of stuff. And it took time. Like we have to understand that. And I think that's also a scary part of it. It's kind of like, well, I know what I'm doing now, and I know how to make money in this now. If I change it, that's gonna slow things down. And it is. Like, I'm not gonna lie to you, it's gonna slow things down. It slowed it slowed her down because she had to like learn a new language to be able to communicate to her people. She needed to learn who she was, this new identity. And it did slow down and it did slow money down. But that's okay. Because if you slow it down now, it will allow to pick it up and move it much quicker later on. As opposed to a quick fix of maybe knowing how to do it, not necessarily fast, but knowing how to do it, and then just being really slow because you're no longer aligned and no longer excited about the thing. Right? So it's like something that comes up with, you know, many of my especially beginning business clients who are so frustrated that they're like getting this like trinkling in like clients and customers. I feel like it's like really, really slow. Right? And I I explained to them, listen, this is good. We want it this way. It's literally like I know I'm a metaphor queen, I'm just gonna keep on going with the metaphors, but it's like imagine if you got pregnant. And I guess it'd be a funny thought if you're a man listening to this, but imagine you got pregnant and then you gave birth the next day. That would be insane. Those 40 weeks, those nine months are so important to be able to build up the capacity of being able to be this n like mom that you're about to become, right? For 40 weeks, you get to read all the books, you get to, you know, start to eat healthier different kinds of food, you get to learn about babies, your bit you're literally your body is growing and and getting stronger for the labor and the birth and all those kinds of things. It's an important piece of the whole thing. And so even if this slows things down, that's okay because you're learning so many different things at once. You're learning about, okay, what is this new thing that I want to be doing? What does it look like? What does it sound like? How can I express it to my people? How would that change my Instagram feed? You know, how all these kinds of things. And then slowly being able to like, how do I work with people in this particular niche now? And it's okay, like just like pregnancy and birth, like we want to have that time to be able to do that. Because by time you then give birth to that baby, your capacity is gonna be out the roof that you're gonna be able to, you know, really bring in clients and a much faster, faster pace. So, you know, it's something that like it's okay, right? Like, it's okay for things to take time because you're just aligning yourself with your work, which is literally the reason why you got into them in the first place. I just want to remind you, so many of us have left these terrible jobs. I'll tell you for myself, I the last job I did before I became a coach was I was teaching Chinese to sorry, I was definitely not teaching Chinese. I was teaching English to Chinese students and I hated it. I hate not that the kids were great, though it was uh so not my thing. I was trying to figure out a job I could do, where I was also parenting my kids and being home with them and my husband was not around at all, the all the stuff. And so I left that job. And so imagine then if I'm now building my own business and I stick with something just because I'm supposed to stick with it, and it's not making me happy. It's like what's the freaking point? Right? I think that like our hearts know long before our minds do, every time. Right? Our hearts like just quickly get it, our bodies get it, and our brains are just like slowly trying to catch up, and that can feel really scary. But listen, it's like when you are aligned with what you're doing and you're excited, like I know this experience for myself right now, like just coming off the launch and you know, the National Networking Dance Party into the beautiful launch of the of Unmute, just knowing what I'm like, and I feel like I'm magnetic because I'm so lit up by all of these things that are happening, that everything I've been creating. And think about like your partner, like look, think about, you know, your husband, your wife, your partner, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, whoever it is, when they are like in their magic, when they're doing what they're so good at doing, it doesn't even be work-wise, business-wise, it could be like, listen, they're l maybe they're like unbelievable bicyclists, that's what they're called, bicyclists, and they just did like a I don't know, just making this up the spot here, so let me go, right? Like a three-day 400K race. I don't know, is that realistic? And you're just and you're there for the finish line. Like you the love that you probably have for this person and the joy and how much you want to be around them because they're so in their magic, they're so in so in it, is just amazing. And that's how it is for our people also. Like our people can sense, hey, she's into this. She knows what she's doing, she's excited. I'm going with her. I want to go with that woman, right? So listen, I also just want to say clearly here, I'm not saying to reinvent your business every month. Do not chase shiny objects, please. Right? Don't stay in identity just because you've worn it out for years, also. Right? Trust that there's timing and there's seasons and that every version of your business prepared you for the next one. Nothing was wasted. Everything that you've done in the past prepared you for what's about to happen in the present and in the future. Right? Because you're ready to become that person who creates it. That person is slowly being created as the person who's then going to create the next offer, the next offer. And let's not make this a struggle. Let's make this like something that, yeah, totally normal, totally natural. Like I used like just as natural as like I used to wear these kinds of jeans and now I wear these kinds of jeans. This is just what happens. Because the world guys, they need people who are running businesses and running offers that they are super aligned with and they would like go to bat for over and over. So I'm blessing you guys on your journey. And that's all I have for you. I hope you guys enjoyed that. I hope I'm wondering, curious to know. I'd love to hear you in my Instagram DMs if you want to come in there and see if you guys are like in this space also. If you're like then feeling the struggle, I'd love to hear from you. Have a beautiful day, everybody. Sending lots of love. Enjoy every single moment of the summer. Love you guys.
