Brave Little Things
Bravery isn’t always about facing your fears head-on or accomplishing the impossible. Sometimes, being brave means knowing when to quit, deciding you’re already whole and enough, or choosing not to do the so-called “brave thing” simply because it’s not what you want.
Brave Little Things is about redefining what it means to show up courageously in life and business, taking small, sustainable steps that help us feel more at home in ourselves. Through raw storytelling, diverse insights, practical tools, and real-life practices, we’ll explore all the ways bravery shows up in everyday moments. Most importantly, you’ll feel held as we navigate these conversations together. Because if there’s one thing I know about building a brave, full life, it’s that doing it together makes it so much easier.
What does it mean to choose a brave life—slowly, intentionally, and on your terms? Let’s go there.

The Secret to Consistency Nobody Talks About
We’ve all heard it: Consistency is the key to success.
But here’s what nobody tells you...consistency isn’t about forcing yourself, being more disciplined, or magically waking up with endless willpower.
In episode 8 of Brave Little Things, I share the real secret to showing up consistently — and actually enjoying it. You’ll learn:
Why consistency is really just a symptom (and of what!)
How to make your work feel so good you actually want to come back to it
And why you’re already more consistent than you think
If you’ve ever said, “I’m just not a consistent person,” this episode will change the way you see yourself — and your business.
And if you’re ready to take this work deeper, I invite you to book a complimentary 60-minute coaching consultation to discuss your goals, dreams, and what’s been holding you back. Link is in the show notes, or DM me on Instagram, and I’ll save you a spot.
Here's what I've learned after years of running my own business, coaching entrepreneurs, and honestly becoming a little bit of the queen of consistency. Consistency is not about discipline. It's not about having superhuman willpower, and it's definitely not about forcing yourself to do things you secretly hate. Because the truth is, consistency is a symptom. A symptom of something deeper and more enjoyable happening under the surface. And here's the good, good news. You're already more consistent than you think. In today's episode, I'm going to share the real secret to staying consistent in your business or even in your life, how to actually make it fun and how to start noticing all the ways you already show up consistently, even when you don't give yourself credit for it. Hey, guys, welcome to Brave Little Things, the podcast where we talk about taking braver action in your business and your life. One little thing at a time. And I'm your host, Tamara. Welcome to Episode 8. Let's get it on. Let's get it started. All right, guys. Welcome back. I'm so glad you're here. Got some juicy things planned for Episode 8. So let's just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. All right, guys. Well, as I said, we're talking about consistency today. By the way, how hard is it to say consistency? Like 10 times over? Very hard. So I'll try my best. You try your best to listen. You know, one of my very first careers, maybe something you don't know about me, maybe you do, was a program coordinator and director for a traveling team program. It was a six week trip. It first was all over the US and later on became all over the US and Israel. And let me tell you, I ran the most epic, over the top, unforgettable program on the market. I really do believe that with my full heart. It was so incredible. We'd volunteer. You know, the idea was that basically I planned volunteer programs, opportunities for my kids. all over the country. And we also were, you know, fully vegetarian and we'd shop at the different co-ops. We did backpacking adventures, leadership building kind of things. It was really like top notch, right? So as I mentioned, we'd volunteer. I planned actually once, we volunteered on a Native American reservation. And I even brought in an incredible rabbi who was deeply connected to Native American culture. And the rabbi, along with the chief of the reservation, came to teach the kids, my kids, about the shared spiritual values between the two cultures, which was such an amazing program. And then the kids did volunteer work on the reservation. One time, I rented out this adorable vegan cafe in the middle of Vermont and turned it into a fundraiser talent show. The kids performed, the parents donated, and all the money went to the charity that the kids chose at the end of the night, which was so fun. And basically, every morning that I would work As a program coordinator and director, planning this program before we went out in the summertime, every morning I'd wake up in my little home office, you know, looking over at a big window. Time was living in Jerusalem, looking over the streets of Jerusalem, sitting at my desk. I'd ask myself this one question. What can I do today to make this program even cooler? How can I over deliver? How can I make this more fun for them and for me? I literally be like jumping out of my seat. It was not hard to work on this at all. I would like really be like running to my desk every single morning. And that energy, that deep joy made it so easy to show up every single day. It was, again, as I mentioned, not hard. It would be harder to keep me away from that job. It'd be hard to be like, okay, we're not going to work at all today. We're just doing something completely different. That was actually where I had to balance my life. But I had so much fun planning these amazing adventures for these kids, these incredible leadership programs, these amazing volunteer opportunities all over the country. And I know that you've heard it before, that consistency is the key to success. And yes, that is very true. But what they don't tell you, what nobody really talks about is that consistency isn't the cause, it is the effect. People don't just wake up and magically have willpower every day to work. They come back over and over because there's something pulling them back, something that feeds them, something that actually they enjoy and lights them up. And here's something else nobody tells you. You're already consistent. You really are. Even if you don't think of yourself as a consistent person, I can't tell you how many times I've been told that by clients, by friends, like, I'm just not consistent. I happen to have been born consistent. I lean towards that. And then as a coach and being coached and having my brain coached for so long, as I mentioned at the beginning, I kind of consider myself a queen of consistency. It's a major component that I help my people, my clients, I go through my coaching programs with and how to show up consistently, which is why this topic is so important to me. But if you don't think of yourself as a consistent person, you're showing up in the same patterns all the time. Because you're not allowing yourself to be this person. But the truth is that you are in all different kinds of ways. We all are. You're consistent about even the things that might feel negative. So maybe you're consistent about doubting yourself. Like anytime anything new comes up, you consistently doubt yourself that you can't do it. You're consistent about telling yourself that you're not consistent.
UNKNOWN:Right?
SPEAKER_00:That's a big one, right? People constantly tell me that like they're not consistent. I'm like, well, I can tell you one thing for sure without even digging. You're consistent about saying you're not consistent, consistent about struggling with the same task over and over and over. You're also consistent in a thousand other ways that you're probably don't even notice, right? Maybe you always brush your teeth before bed. Imagine that most of you do. right? At least in the morning time or at least once a day, if not twice, if not three times. By the way, as an adult, it's amazing to see. I remember watching my mom. She would like seriously brush her teeth. Like anytime she ate, she brushed her teeth. I remember watching her and being so impressed. And I have to say, I've become that person now. I even floss for the past bunch of years. I brush and I floss every time I eat, which is like really impressive. Maybe you also... You always check your phone when you wake up. Maybe you call your mom every Sunday. Maybe you meet your friend for coffee every week. You are already someone who has habits who shows up, right? Even if you're thinking I'm not consistent, there are so many ways in which you are. I just coached a client who was like flailing in her business. It was just fully convinced that she didn't have consistent bone in her body. It was really a big deal for her. She was really struggling there. And literally after a quick dig and poking around, she shared with me that she goes on a morning walk every morning before she drops her kids off at school. She calls her best friend every Friday. She makes popsicles for her kids every Sunday. How cute is that, by the way? Such a good idea. She has dinner on the table every single night. See, when you start to see that consistency is already happening in your life, it becomes a lot easier to believe that you can apply that same energy to your business or creative work or the places that you're feeling like you're struggling more in, right? You already have this trait. It's coming out in different kinds of ways. And now we can apply that to the places that you want to apply it to. So now we know two things. Let's review for a minute. Consistency, number one, consistency isn't the goal. It's a symptom. It's something that we learn that is like coming from a place. It's not a skill you don't have. It's something you already do. So how do you bring those together? So again, number one, consistency isn't the goal. It's a symptom. Number two, and it's not a skill you don't have. It's something you already do. So how do you bring those together? You find the joy again. And you remember why you love doing what you're doing. And you nourish yourself. So you actually want to come back. These are all major values of mine that I think truly have allowed me to be a consistent person in my life where I get up every single day to work out. Not even a problem. I write an email newsletter every single week. Not a problem. I'm starting to, now that the podcast has kicked off, I send out a podcast every Tuesday. New, fresh podcast. material every week, not a problem. And all of it, I really have to give it over to, give a big shout out to nourishment, joy, and plugging back into what lights me up. It allows me to come back to it and really feel excited about it. Think about for a second, I want you to think about for a second. Okay, I am, by the way, full disclosure, I am not a gardener, although I really, you I know, I wouldn't say my past life I was, but I think that in my future life I will be. But think of a tomato plant in a garden for a moment. Lush, red, thriving, overflowing with a juice coming out of it. I can almost taste it in my mouth right now. Oh my gosh, yum. It's tempting to look at exactly what you see from the sidelines of that garden and say, wow, what a strong plant. And not even consider what is happening below the surface as if it just magically grows. But the real magic is underground. The soil, how nourishing the soil is, the water, the sun, the nutrients. That plant keeps producing because it's being fed exactly what it needs. And you need that too. It is nature. We are nature. We need the same thing. So, You know, one example I'll actually give is when I started my email newsletter a few years back, I really struggled. It felt kind of boring to me. I felt like, am I going to be able to do this every week? I don't know. It felt a little challenging, like it was more like a chore. And that's not how I do things. I did not enjoy that feeling. So I decided to make it fun. I decided to fun it up, and I started taking myself out for a date. Just me, my laptop, and my newsletter. also my people. And every Thursday, I'd head to my favorite cafe, order a carrot juice and a treat, sit in the outdoor space, and I'd write. And it felt like a date with me and with all of you who read my newsletter, which, by the way, also is called Brave Little Things. And if you're not on it yet, you should definitely get on my newsletter. I'll put that in the show notes so you can link to it. You can get the link to it. And it completely changed the game, completely, completely changed the game because all of a sudden it went from this like I was stuck in my office trying to like get something out to my people, felt very uninspired, very unexciting. All of a sudden I was outdoors with the vibe, the music, the carrot juice. I was on this like little hot date with my newsletter and it was like a complete blast. change over and how I, what I wrote, how excited I was to write it. It had a similar feeling that I had when I was, you know, program coordinator where I like would run to the cafe every Thursday to write this. It changed everything. All right. So here's my question for you. What's the thing you're struggling to stay consistent with? Now, there might be many things. I kind of want you for this practice to kind of zone in on one because just, you know, we do everything on little things here. One thing at a time. So think about, and it could be something in your business. It could be something in your life. You decide. But what's one thing you're struggling to stay consistent with, right? And I want you to ask yourself, how can I date this? How can I have the sexiest love affair known to humankind with that one little project or task or activity? What kinds of ideas can you think of that will be the biggest turn on for you that you literally can't wait for those, you know, things to be that you can't wait for your kids to be dropped off at school so you can race back to your home office and get to work? What is that one thing? Because, you know, Just like our relationships to other human beings, our partners, our kids, our parents, our best friends are so significant in how we feed it and enjoy it and date it or just make it feel alive. We have a relationship with our projects and our tasks and our businesses and all those kinds of things. And it's important to really make it feel alive and feel like something that you want to be hanging out with. So how can you date it? Would it be to physically take it out of your, you know, go to a cafe like I did, right? Would it be just simply putting on music before you sit down to dive in and dance your brains off for two minutes every single time, right? What kind of thing can you help make it the sexiest thing that you just can't because it feels like literally a love affair? I want you to think about that. I want you to specifically make a long brainstorm list. Don't hold yourself back ever. I don't care if the ideas coming to you feel like so ridiculous. In fact, the more ridiculous, the better. Bring them on and let's see what comes up. And also, by the way, while you're at it, make a long list of the ways you're already showing up. Write them down. See yourself as someone who can be consistent because you already are. Both the things that you're really psyched about, And also the things you wish you weren't so consistent in. I want you to make both of those lists because both of those will prove to your brain and show your brain that you are a consistent person. And again, this is a trait that you can bring into other places and other avenues of your life. When you plug back into deep love, joy, passion, and you stop telling yourself the story that you're just not consistent consistently, Showing up becomes a whole lot easier and really a lot more freaking fun. I promise you that. So as you go into your new week or your week right now, I want you to think about that tomato plant. You're consistently, right? That beautiful, remember I spoke about the tomato plant? Your consistency isn't about forcing yourself to show up. It's about nourishing yourself so you can actually want to show up. That's the difference. We can push ourselves and show up. We want to get to the place where we want to show up because what happens is that's very sustainable and we'll want to keep on showing up and showing up and showing up. And remember, you're already more consistent than you think. And if you're ready to take this work deeper, Because sometimes a podcast episode is all you need to get started and it's fine and you're done and it's good. But sometimes, you know, it's time to really dive in even deeper and take this work a level deeper. If you're feeling ready to air out all of your dreams and your desires and your goals and become more consistent in bringing those to life and also take an honest look at what's been getting in the way, I'd love to invite you in for a free 60-minute coaching consult with me. the chance to get clear on what you really want, see what's holding you back and start mapping out a way forward that actually works for you. You can grab the link to book your consult in the show notes or just come find me on Instagram. That's where I like to hang out the most and DM me and I'll save you a spot. I promise you that.
